Oman Air Fleet Information
Oman Air is Oman’s national airline, the airline has an impressive collection of fleet to serve both domestically and internationally. Further detailed fleet information is as follows:-
Oman air has a total of three Airbus 330-300 available for service. The seat configuration of the plane is distributed among three classes. Airbus 330-300 offers 6 first class, 20 Business class and 204 Economy class seats. The two engines are powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 700. Other details include the length of the air craft i.e., 63.689 m / 208 ft 11 inches, whereas the height is 16.828 m / 55 ft 2 inches.
The maximum take-off weight (MTOW) the plane can handle is 233,000 kg and the maximum limit of landing weight (MLW) is 187,000 kg. The wing span of the aircraft is 60.304 m / 197 ft 10 inches.
Airbus 330-300 provides both comfort and privacy to its passengers. Passengers can choose which class to travel, in depending on the specifications.
Oman air fleet includes three Airbus 330-200. The engines of this aircraft are also powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 700. A 330-200 seat configuration is divided into two classes, 20 business class and 196 Economy class seats. The economy class seats have 34 inch pitch, which makes it a rather spacious ride for the passengers. Other relevant information includes the overall length of the aircraft i.e. 58.8M/188 FT 8 inches; height is 17.40 M/57FT.1 inches, wing span of 60.3M / 197FT.10 inches and the maximum operating speed is Mach 0.86.
The Boeing series is the new addition to the Oman air fleet. The airline has a total of thirteen “Boeing 737-800 NG” available for service. These aircrafts are equipped with high tech facilities to assist the passengers. All 13 have two categories of seating layout. Nine aircrafts have 12 Business class and 144 Economy class seats. The other four have 12 Business class and 142 Economy class seats. The two engines of the aircraft are powered by CFM 56-7B26, each with a thrust of 26,300 lbs. The Boeing has a maximum operating speed of 600 km/hour and can reach a maximum altitude of 41000 ft.
Boeing 737-700 NG is another aircraft available for service by the Oman Airlines. A total of 2 aircrafts are part of the fleet. The seat layout is categorized in two classes namely 12 business class and 102 Economy class seats. The two engines are powered by CFM. B 737-700 NG is equipped with various comfort providing facilities to suit the passengers.
From April 2011 onwards, Oman will have 2 brand new Embraer E-175 operating for the airline. These air crafts will be used in the Gulf & Middle East for short haul routes. By 2012, two more E-175 will join the fleet of Oman air. It consists of 11 business class and 60 economy class seats.
Two ATR 42-500(s) are also part of the Oman air used for short domestic routes and also around the gulf. These are one class planes with 46 economy seats layout. The two engines PW 127E Pratt and Whitney are turbo propelled
